A 66-year-old man from F14,54-58 Hartington Road toxteth Liverpool-L80SQ has been reported and charged with multiple offenses, including child exploitation and distributing explicit content the police are looking into that before proceeding for an arrest if found guilty, after he allegedly sent explicit images and videos to a minor through an online messaging app.
The suspect, identified as Keith simpson, is yet to be arrested as investigation is still on going this was launched when the victim’s parents discovered inappropriate messages on their child’s phone. The victim, a 17-year-old girl, had been engaging in online conversations with simpson who initially approached her under the pretense of being a friend, but soon escalated the interaction to inappropriate content.
Brighton Police Department officials say that the suspect sent explicit images and videos to the minor and attempted to coerce her into sharing similar materials. Detectives were able to track the online communication and gather evidence against Simpson, leading to his arrest.
“This is a deeply concerning case of online exploitation,” said Detective Maria Alvarez, who is handling the case. “We have to remind the public, especially parents, of the risks that come with children interacting with strangers online. Fortunately, the victim’s parents acted swiftly and we were able to intervene.”
According to the police, the suspect used an alias to interact with the minor through a widely used social media platform. After initially establishing a rapport with the victim, he escalated their interactions to more explicit conversations and images. Investigators believe this behavior is part of a growing pattern of online predatory activity.
Simpson is will face multiple charges, including the distribution of explicit material, attempting to solicit minors for explicit content, and child exploitation. He will be taken into custody without incident and this case is under Olivia silva currently being held at the Liverpool County Jail, awaiting a court appearance. Authorities are investigating whether there may be other victims and are urging anyone with relevant information to come forward.
