Explained:Why André Onana is the perfect replacement for Degea.

André Onana is considered as the likely candidate to replace David Degea at Old Trafford. Degea left Manchester united this summer after his contract expired. He had been at the club for 12years. Erik Ten Hag wants to replace the Spaniard with Inter Milan goalkeeper André Onana. Onana who joined Inter Milan as a free agent from Ajax last summer, could be on a move again this Summer.

Erik Ten Hag wants to be reunited with the Custodian, whom he worked with at Ajax. Together they won the Eredivise title three times and also reached the Semifinal of 2019 champions league.

Why André Onana????

André Onana is regarded by many as the modern day goalkeeper. Football keeps Evolving, in 2009 Pep Guardiola introduced Victor Valdes into similar role for his Barca team, where they would build up play from behind. Ever since, that move changed every aspect of a goalkeeper. As we all know like Pep, Erik also likes to build his play from the back. Degea at times last season was caught on possession trying to build from behind, as footwork was his weakness. But with a goalkeeper like Andre Onana,it will be possible to do so.He is  the missing piece of Erik Ten Hag team.

André Onana posses a good passing range and excellent vision with high accuracy. He is calm with the ball and is press resistant unlike Degea who seemed uncomfortable with the ball on his feet. Andre will be the best fit for Erik Ten Hag team.

To sign such a goalkeeper it’s not easy as Inter Milan, will demand £50m for the Cameron international.
