Breaking: Tyler Adams move to Chelsea has collapsed.
According to Skysport the talks over a proposed move of Tyler Adams to the London club has collapsed due to the clubs failing to reach an agreement. The move was considered done yesterday after Chelsea agreed to activate the relegation release clause which is believed to be £20M and even medicals booked for the player after the contract terms were agreed verbally.
This collapse can also be looked differently considering Chelsea desperation to sign Caicedo could be a factor as it’s thought that Chelsea decided to top up Caicedo bid with the money that could have been used to sign the USMNT international after Liverpool cashed in for Caicedo where they outbid Chelsea. And failing to sign Caicedo who has been Chelsea priority throughout the summer couldn’t have been taken lightly.
The other reason is believed to be Chelsea saw no need of signing two offensive midfielders at a single transfer whereas they have Santos and Gallagher and adding Adams could have caused havoc again to Pochettino who is clear to Chelsea board that he wants to trim his squad to a 23 man team.
