Chelsea still exploring different attack options after Olise snub.
Chelsea are seeking to sign a forward who can play a number ten role or as a winger as they try to get in more squad depth after recent injuries from attackers. Chelsea had already identified Michael Olise and were willing to activate his clause but there was a controversy over the deal as Crystal Palace were unhappy on Chelsea’s approach and threatened to take legal actions. This led to Chelsea pulling out and move on for new targets.
Chelsea appreciate Brennan Johnson and Lyon’s young forward Bradley Barcola. This two as reported by transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano are key players to watch amid Chelsea links. Chelsea have not made contacts asking for the availability of the move for the players. Chelsea have neither made bids nor started any negotiations to sign the players as they are looking for more attacking options. Bradley Barcola is also linked with Chelsea but the presence of PSG in the deal has led Chelsea to monitor the situation and enter the race as Lyon are asking for £44M to let the player leave.
The last option for Chelsea attack which is being looked as an outside chance is the signing of Mohamed Kudus. Although Chelsea have not contacted the player since August 1 there could be a shocking return to the player. The player was reluctant to sign for Brighton as he hoped a bigger club would sign him and considering he had already agreed contract terms verbally with Chelsea and the move to London is still on.
