Benzema and Espirito Santo relationship in doubt as the two engage in a conflict.
The relationship between Al Ittihad coach and the current Ballon d’or holder Karim Benzema is strained as the coach has already presented his reasons to the club board stating that the French striker does not suit his style of play. The coach is also said to be out of consent in the signing of Karim Benzema from Real Madrid to Al Ittihad. During the transfer Benzema admitted to the head of contracts Saad Al-Ladidh that he was not comfortable with the Portuguese as he did not treat him with professionalism on his arrival to the club but Saad Al-Ladidh was able to convince him and sign for the club.
Benzema also after his arrival in the club he also asked for the captain armband but Nuno Santo ignored his request and gave the captain armband to Romarinho. Today, Benzema did not attend the training sessions. The management of Al Ittihad have threatened to break the contract of Nuno Santo if Benzema does not return to training and they should resolve their differences. The club sees Benzema as an important figure in growing Saudi Arabia football and the player should be at a good working environment to fulfil that dream as they have already drawn too many stars from Europe.
