“Let be realistic, Chelsea are a mid table club”, – Frank Leboeuf.

Chelsea was the most successful team last decade in the Premier League, under the ownership of Russian Billionaire Roman. After Russia invaded Ukraine, Roman was Sactioned by the UK government and forced to sell the club. Fourteen potential buyers bidded to buy Chelsea, but a group lead by Todd Boehly and Clearlake investment group purchased the club for £3b.

The new ownership came in with the different ideas and project to run the London club. Chelsea under the new ownership have adapted a new model, buying potential talented youngsters and develop them. Under Roman era Chelsea was known to spend on world class superstar who would bring instant results and trophies.

In their first year on the Helm, Chelsea finished 12th in the Premier League under the new ownership. It’s was Chelsea worst ever season in over 30yrs. Chelsea have also spent over £1b in transfer over the past three transfer windows.

The new ownership appointed Mauricio Pochettino for this season, but there seems to be no much difference as they sit 14th in the log with just five points. Chelsea have only one win in the Premier League which came against newly promoted Luton Town.

Frank Leboeuf Chelsea Legend, “Let’s be realistic – Chelsea are a mid table club. Attracting players will be tough and players like Mbappe won’t want to come. The big players want to play in the Champions League. Arsenal had that problem for years, and so did Manchester United.”

Chelsea have really invested on young untested talent and it will take time for Chelsea to form a strong team and compete for silverware again.
