Joao Cancelo joins Barcelona on loan.
Barcelona have completed the loan deal move of Joao Cancelo from Manchester city. The loan move will last for a year as reported by transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano. The loan move also includes buy option of a fee around €30M but it will be activated when certain criteria will be met. The game time and reaching at least the round of 16 in the Champions league are the requirements to make the buy option clause mandatory. The 29 year old was Xavi’s priority defender this season and since the player had been sidelined by Pep and signs were clear that he was no longer in his plans again and had been also sent to loan to Bayern last season.
The player had accepted terms with Barcelona long ago this month and it was a matter of time for the deal to be completed and tonight he will fly to Barcelona to complete the move and become a Barca player for this season.
