JUST IN: Bears Go to War in the Trenches! Chicago’s Bold 2025 NFL Mock Draft Shakes Up the League.

As the Chicago Bears continue building toward a more competitive future, their latest three-round mock draft suggests a clear focus on strengthening the trenches on both sides of the ball. With foundational pieces already in place—such as quarterback Caleb Williams—the Bears are prioritizing protection and dominance at the line of scrimmage to support their young signal-caller and reinforce the defensive front.

First Round: Mason Graham, DT, Michigan

In Pro Football Network’s latest seven-round mock draft, analyst Jacob Infante projects the Bears selecting Michigan defensive tackle Mason Graham with their first-round pick. Graham, a disruptive interior presence, was a key piece of Michigan’s dominant defense in their 2024 national championship run. His combination of power, quickness, and relentless motor makes him a perfect fit for head coach Matt Eberflus’ defensive scheme.

The Bears’ defensive line showed improvement in 2024, especially after acquiring Montez Sweat midseason, but adding a high-upside defensive tackle like Graham would help generate more interior pressure and improve the team’s ability to stop the run. With the NFC North featuring strong rushing attacks, particularly from the Detroit Lions, solidifying the defensive front is a priority for Chicago.

Second Round: Jonah Savaiinaea, OG, Arizona

The Bears then turn their attention to the offensive line, selecting Arizona guard Jonah Savaiinaea in the second round. Protecting Caleb Williams is paramount, and Savaiinaea’s versatility and power make him an ideal candidate to anchor the interior. At 6-foot-5 and 330 pounds, he possesses the strength to move defenders in the run game while showing enough mobility to excel in pass protection.

While the Bears’ offensive line improved in 2024, injuries and inconsistent play highlighted the need for additional talent. Pairing Savaiinaea with left guard Teven Jenkins and young tackle Darnell Wright could give Chicago one of the more promising young offensive lines in the league.

Third Round: Princely Umanmielen, EDGE, Ole Miss

In the third round, the Bears add more pass-rushing help by selecting Princely Umanmielen, an edge rusher from Ole Miss. Umanmielen is an explosive, bendy edge rusher with the ability to win with speed and technique. He finished the 2024 college season with impressive sack numbers and consistently disrupted opposing quarterbacks.

With Sweat on one side, adding another athletic pass rusher like Umanmielen would help the Bears create a formidable defensive front. Chicago has struggled with getting consistent pressure in recent years, and this selection aims to change that.

Trench Warfare: The Bears’ Draft Strategy

The emphasis on the trenches in this mock draft highlights the Bears’ commitment to building a team capable of competing at the highest level. By addressing both lines, Chicago is ensuring that its franchise quarterback is well-protected while simultaneously strengthening its ability to control the line of scrimmage on defense.

With the NFC North boasting elite offensive lines in Detroit and Green Bay, the Bears recognize that controlling the trenches is key to sustained success. If the team follows this blueprint, they could be well on their way to a much-improved 2025 season
