Latest signings Wigan Warriors agree to a four-year deal.
Australian stand-off between Wigan Warriors Bevan French has extended his contract with the Super League team through 2028.
Stand-off French has signed a new four-year contract with Wigan that will keep him with the team until the end of 2028, the club announced on Wednesday. The British powerhouses are ecstatic and think French will likely continue with the team for the remainder of his career.
After helping Wigan win the championship and end St Helens’ recent supremacy, he was crowned Man of Steel for the previous season.
The 28-year-old has made three appearances on the Super League Dream Team.
Wigan CEO Kris Radlinski stated, “We get to watch one of the most talented players of his generation entertain us for four more years.”
On the outside of the club website, Radlinski stated that the agreement “pretty much secures the rest of his career at Wigan”.
French had a key role in the squad that won the Challenge Cup in 2022, the Super League the previous year, and the global championship last month after defeating the Penrith Panthers.
“I’ve always said since I first arrived here that I’ve evolved as a person and as a player, and I’ve learned so much from the coaching staff and the other players around me,” French stated.
“It’s exciting to hear about the club’s current state and future direction, and it makes you want to aim high.” The choice wasn’t difficult to make.”
