New Manchester United signing Rasmus Højlund could wait at least six weeks before making his debut. The player was signed at £72M fee from Atalanta to be the spine of striking force in Ten Hag’s squad. The 20 year old has already shown a promising future as he has already scored twice as many goals as Erling Haaland in 2024 EURO qualifiers although he managed to score only 12 goals for Atalanta but United believe he is the man to rival Haaland.

However, there is a big blow to United fans and the team as well after medical tests were conducted on Rasmus Højlund as part of his medicals last week MRI scan showed that the player is nursing a back injury. Some sources report that this injury issue is more serious than what the club had thought before completing his transfer to Old Trafford from Atalanta last week.

The MRI scan revealed that there is a stress response hotspot in his back which can be the start of stress fractures in young players. This will definitely make Højlund to be unlikely to be able to play two matches a week for some time until the injury issue is off. It’s a big blow to United fans as they will eventually have to wait at least six weeks for the player to make his debut as a united player.
