This summer transfer window has been associated with big names moving from one club to another either due to end of contract, loan deals or transfer by purchase. When looking at the following deals, they have been the major transfer deals which have stalled leaving fans wondering what is happening behind the scenes making the transfer to take long before they are agreed and even prompting clubs to hold too many meetings as they try to come with an agreement is reached.

One of the deals that have been hitting media headlines is the Moises Caicedo deal that has lasted from this year’s January transfer window until this summer window where the heavily linked move to Chelsea is being slowed by high asking price from Brighton and Chelsea are reluctant to pay at once since they want to balance their FFP books as they spent heavily in January although Chelsea are in control of the deal and the player has accepted the move to London the clubs are yet to agree on payment terms.

The Onana deal to Manchester United is another deal that has been in talks over the past two weeks. The deal is yet to be agreed as Manchester United have not yet reached Inter Milan asking price which is ranged at €60M but current meetings between the two clubs showed the deal will be agreed soon as United improved their bid to £45M which is closer.

Kylian Mbappé and Romelu Lukaku deals have also caused a saga as they have lasted for a whole season as players themselves are forcing the moves out of their clubs and their clubs are reluctant to let them either go for free or on loan respectively. Chelsea said no more loans for Lukaku as they want the player to leave permanently and Inter are unwilling to pay more than  €30M making the transfer to be in a stand still. PSG on the other hand don’t want to lose Mbappé for free to Real Madrid despite the player admitting that it’s his next destination and have even threatened to sell him to the highest bidder next month if he doesn’t extend his stay.

Despite the saga in these deals there is a high chance for them to be completed this summer or they will never happen in future.
