Rumor killer Wigan Warriors transfer following NRL prop rumors
There has been talk of a Canterbury Bulldogs forward joining the Warriors.
Renouf Atoni will not be signing with the Wigan Warriors.
The Canterbury Bulldogs star, whose contract expires at the end of the season, has been linked to the Warriors, according to reports that surfaced earlier this week in Australia.
According to The Mole, Atoni received a significant offer to join the Warriors, one that the Bulldogs would not be able to match.
Atoni, however, was not on their radar and would not be joining the team, according to insiders at the DW Stadium.
It’s no secret that Kris Radlinski is putting in a lot of effort to improve the team, and the club is keeping an eye out for a new forward from outside.
The team still needs to replace George Burgess, but they have room in the salary budget to bring in a big player.
Though it hasn’t happened yet, the Warriors are reportedly making a lot of effort to get further support.
On the home front, they have added Lebanon international Abbas Miski, who has shown promise in the Championship for the London Broncos, and Leigh Centurions’ Iain Thornley.
Another target was Nathan Mason, but it seems like that plan has stagnated recently.
In the upcoming months, the Warriors should have a busy recruiting season, with a forward and a halfback said to be among the team’s top goals.
