Two challenges await Chelsea this week.
Chelsea will play two fixtures this week at an interval of three days as they are set to welcome League Two side Fc Wimbledon in the second round of Carabao cup and after that they will face Nottingham Forest in the Premier league. The fixtures will be played on 30th August and 2nd of September respectively. All fixtures will be played at Stamford Bridge.
Chelsea vs FC Wimbledon
Chelsea were drawn with League Two side FC Wimbledon in the second round of Carabao cup which will be played on 30th August on Wednesday at 18:45 UK time. Wimbledon currently sits at number five in the League Two log. The club has faced Chelsea once in a competitive play and lost by three goals to two giving Chelsea a 100% record. They will meet again and each side will be looking for a win to progress to the next round. Mauricio Pochettino will likely rest his main squad that has started the previous PL fixtures as he aims to rotate his squad and avoid fatigue. Chelsea have 70% winning probability while Wimbledon have 7% chance.
Chelsea vs Nottingham Forest
After midweek fixture, Chelsea will face Nottingham Forest in match week four at Stamford Bridge. Chelsea will be looking for a second win in the league to increase their tally points to start fighting for a European football spot next season. Chelsea have failed to win against Nottingham in the last two premier league fixtures with all ending in a draw. The match will be played 2nd of Sept 15:00UK time.
Will Pochettino advance to the next round in Carabao cup in his first cup competition as a Chelsea coach?
