Chelsea defender Marc Cucurella has urged fellow teammates to keep on with the momentum and fight on for more points in order to have a successful season unlike the last season. Cucurella, in less than a month ago had his future at Chelsea in doubts and had an almost complete loan deal to Manchester United but right now things have changed and the coach feels that the player really deserves to be at the club after his impressive matches due to the club having injuries and suspensions. The player has now gained a new field position and is now an inverted right back due to James and Gusto being on injury and suspensions.
Marc Cucurella on Chelsea winning against Burnley at away, “It’s a very good win for us because we were confident and scored a lot of goals. In other games, maybe we lose confidence [after going behind], but today we followed the game plan, kept building, and kept fighting.”
In an extended interview the player opened up on playing at the right back and the challenges he has faced in that position despite it reviving his Chelsea career again to become an important figure in the defence line. The player said, “It’s a little bit difficult. Really it depends on the actions. The big demands are the same, it’s just I’m the opposite side. I try to do my best, help the team, and I think my teammates help me as well.”
