Who is Arda Güler?

Arda Güler is a left-footed attacking midfielder who currently signed for Spanish giants Real Madrid in the 2023 summer transfer window from Fernabache. At just the age of 18, the footballer has already caught the attention and interests from football lovers due to his successful performance in the Turkey national team and his former club Fernabache and becoming one of the popular footballers in the recent times. He is seen as a creative midfielder with immense setpiece abilities.

Arda due to his rapid evolution in soccer he was named the captain in the Genclerbirligi youth academy despite being the youngest where he spent five years. Arda Güler background, family and education.

Arda Güler was born in 25 February 2005 in Altindag in the north eastern part of the capital of Turkey, Ankara. He is the son of Umit Güler and Surep Güler.

The youngster grew up in Altindag under strict supervision from his parents and this led to his shaping of character and behaviour. Growing up in Altindag also helped him to be exposed to different ethnical groups. Although there is nothing much in the Internet to show the profession of his parents, they have actively been involved in the succeeding of their sons career not forgetting that his father has been the acting football agent.

Education

Arda attended school at his local area which provided him with quality education and diverse learning experience. However when he was only at his second year of his primary school his teacher discovered his athletic abilities and recommended his transfer to Genclerbirligi where the availability of the facilities will help him build up his career together with his education.

Arda started his career at Genclerbirligi youth academy where stayed in the early football development school for five years and later joined Fernabache youth ranks.

After a successful progress in the youth ranks Arda was promoted to the first team and offered a contract of two and a half years in the year 2021 on 13th January as he was considered to become a star in future.

In the 2021/22 season Arda made his debut as a substitute against HJK from Finland in the UEFA Europa league where his team won one goal to nil. Three days later Arda went on to make his Super Lig debut where he provided an assist which led to the lone winning goal. This led to his recognition as a more regular player in the club and on March 2022 he scored his first goal for the club and became the youngest goalscorer in the Turkish Super Lig at 17 years. Arda impressive start continued as the player scored 3 goals and provided 3 assists in just 255 minutes by May 2022.

The departure of Mesuit Ozil in the start of 2022/23 season, created a room which led to the limelight of Arda’s career as he was handed the number 10 shirt which is a legendary shirt number at the club. He scored two goals against Kasimpasa in his first match of the season and in 3rd November 2022 he scored his first European goal and provided an assist in a 2-0 win over Dynamo Kiev in the Europa league group stage.

Real Madrid announced the signing of Arda on 6 July 2023 on a six year contract. Real Madrid sealed the deal by paying extra to what was in his release clause in order to beat their rivals Barcelona who had already agreed everything with the player. The fee was €20M but the release clause was valued at €17M. Arda made his debut against Manchester United in a friendly but sustained an injury which delayed his competitive matches debut for three months.

International Career.

Güler made his first international debut with the senior Turkish team on 19th November 2022 in a friendly win against Czech Republic and scored his first goal for his country against Wales in the EURO24 qualifiers.
