Manchester City kicks off the new season with a Comfortable win against Burnley
Premier league defending Champions Manchester city beats Burnley by 3-0.
Premier league champions opened the new season with a win against Burnley. Pep Guardiola fielded in a strong starting eleven to face Vincent Kompany’s side. It took just 4 minutes for Last season topscorer Erling Haaland to find the back of the net. Burnley were full of energy to press hard to try and unsettle Manchester City.
Pep Guardiola was forced to make a change,as the new club Captain Kevin De Bruyne went off injured replaced by the new man Matteo Kovacic.
After a long season, Manchester City seemed to be off the pace and unfit, but in the 35th minute Erling Haaland scored the second goal of the game.
Rodri scored the third in the second half to ensure, that Manchester City kicks off the new season with a win. Anass Zaroury was sent off later in the game for a foul on Kyle Walker.It was not a comfortable win as many thought it would be as Burnley conceded two goals from set pieces.
A very bad situation occured in the match where youngster Rico Lewis was hit with a lighter by a Burnley supporter. Burnley confirmed the suspect was arrested and will face charges.
Pep will be glad to start the new season with a win but unhappy with his team general performance. For Kompany he will be pleased with the boys performance they were promising and showed pure dedication against Manchester City.
