Fagioli reaches a plea agreement deal with Sporting Justice System for a reduced sentence amid his Betting case.

Fagioli has reached a plea agreement with the sporting justice system for a reduced punishment due to betting case.

Nicolo Fagioli has reached an agreement for a reduced sentence with Sporting justice system due to illegally betting on matches according to GiovaAlbanese. The punishment is expected to last for seven to eight months.

The 22 year old Juventus player admitted his behaviour of participating on match betting but never placed a bet on his current team Juventus. Bonnucci, former teammate at Juventus was aware of Fagioli’s betting addiction but kept it secret. The player took this opportunity as a reconciliation to Italy courts and ease his punishment which could even extend to three years.

Fagioli’s agent has stepped up to explain his clients behaviour. The agent during an interview about Fagioli he opened up on his awareness that it’s true the player has an addiction to betting and he could face a ban of 10 to 18 months and they have offered him support to endure this tough times.

“Nicolò is really addicted to gambling, a problem that emerged when we were not his agents”, says Marco Giordano speaking to Repubblica.

“Despite this, we decided not to leave him alone. We tried to help him in any way and I have to say that he’s been behaving exemplarily since signing with us. Fagioli has been ‘collaborating’ with the Turin Prosecutor. He will likely get a ban from 10 to 18 months.

The player is reportedly to have gambled over one million euros in a few months. Due to these exposure of bookies, he found himself involving fellow Italy national players Nicolo Zaniolo and Sandro Tonali who plays for Aston Villa and Newcastle respectively. Fagioli connected them with betting agents for a more secure wages. This led to expelling of Zaniolo and Tonali from Italy national team in order for investigation to be carried out.
