The $120-million, two-story vertical growth occurred above an active rehab wing. The scope consisted of 42 client spaces, 4 operating space suites, a sterilized processing department and a main energy plant serving the whole school, provided throughout 7 thoroughly collaborated stages.
Developing the main energy plant at West Marion Community Hospital needed crossing the healthcare facility’s main water, electrical, gas and interactions facilities 33 times. To safeguard crucial systems and prevent interruptions to client care, the group utilized hydroexcavation and other soft-digging techniques to securely expose existing energies. Shifts of medical gases, emergency situation power and cooled water were finished over night under thoroughly collaborated contingency strategies.
Since building and construction happened straight above an occupied rehab flooring, sound, vibration and dust needed to be firmly managed. To decrease onsite activity, approximately 75% of interior walls showed up preassembled with electrical, pipes and mechanical systems currently incorporated, in addition to outside panels, client space assemblies, restroom pods, passage and medical gas racks and electrical spaces. The prefabrication method decreased sound, alleviated blockage and sped up setup.
Throughout building, stringent infection-control steps secured clients and personnel, supported by a devoted ICRA professional and specialized healthcare infection-prevention training for all task workers.
