Bears linked to trade reunion with All-Pro edge rusher at fifth-round pick price tag

The Chicago Bears are 2-2 going into Week 5 and seem most likely purchasers at the trade due date, disallowing a collapse over the next month.

If they’re competitors by the early November trade due date, among the more apparent requirements this group might aim to fill is the edge rush position. They may have a great choice easily offered.

Jonathan Jones of The Athletic connected the Bears to Los Angeles Chargers edge rush Khalil Mack for what might be a really interesting trade reunion. He likewise shared the predicted rate of Mack, which can be found in at a really affordable fifth-round worth.

“But Khalil Mack to Chicago is something multiple league sources told me makes the most sense if both teams continue on their respective trajectories,” Jones composes.

With the Bears an apparent landing area for Mack in a trade, it’s essential to understand what it may cost Chicago to obtain the seasoned edge rush from the Chargers.

Jones shared that, “One GM and one assistant GM on different teams slotted Mack’s value as worthy of a fifth-round pick.”

Chicago can manage that cost, and with the 0-4 Chargers most likely to be sellers by the November trade due date, Mack to the Bears for a 5th makes ideal sense.

Obviously, another group in requirement of pass rush aid might provide more to beat the Bears in this trade, however there isn’t a more practical landing area for Mack this season.

He formerly played with the Bears throughout his prolonged NFL profession, and the Bears are in clear requirement of pass rush aid. With the cap area to make a trade work, and this fifth-round assessment, a trade for Mack would make excessive sense for the Bears.

The greatest obstacle will be whether the Chargers offer or not. A loss in Week 5 to the Denver Broncos for the Chargers might be a good idea for the Bears, as it ‘d likely increase the chances that Mack is readily available.

Long as Ryan Poles and the Bears are prepared to move a fifth-round choice, and possibly more, to land Mack, then they ought to have a practical possibility of landing the prospective future Hall of Famer when it’s all stated and done.
