Bills DB C.J. Gardner-Johnson Suspended One Game For Spitting vs. Raiders

Buffalo Bills security C.J. Gardner-Johnson’s eventful start to the 2026 season included another chapter.

Gardner-Johnson has actually been suspended one video game after his ejection Sunday versus the Las Vegas Raiders.

Gardner-Johnson was ejected before halftime of the Bills’ Week 6 video game versus the Las Vegas Raiders for unsportsmanlike conduct. He seemed in a spoken conflict with numerous Raiders’ gamers before the flag, and the replay revealed Gardner-Johnson spitting in the location of Raiders tight end Brock Bowers.

The act breached Rule 12, Section 3, Article 1, which uses to “any act which is contrary to the generally understood principles of sportsmanship.”

Gardner-Johnson’s suspension starts Monday, Oct. 26, following the Bills’ Week 7 bye, indicating he will miss out on Buffalo’s Nov. 1 video game versus the Baltimore Ravens. He will be qualified to go back to the active lineup on Nov. 2. Gardner-Johnson can appeal the suspension.

Sunday’s ejection is the most recent in a series of events for the veteran security, who signed a 1 year handle Buffalo this year worth approximately $6 million.

In Week 2, the NFL fined Gardner-Johnson $11,194 for a hip drop deal with on Lions running back Jahmyr Gibbs on the very first breeze of the 3rd quarter of Buffalo’s 41-31 win.

Gardner-Johnson was struck with another $11,194 great following last Monday’s 37-34 overtime win over the Rams, this time for striking/kicking/kneeing on a play late in guideline.

Gardner-Johnson stirred things up once again after Buffalo’s 29-26 loss to the Patriots in Week 4. Efton Chism III made a diving, one-handed goal catch to win the video game, and Gardner-Johnson brushed it off later, calling Chism a “practice squad player” who “made a hell of a catch.”

Sunday’s ejection isn’t the very first of Gardner-Johnson’s profession, either.

In December 2024while with the Eagles, he was disqualified versus the Commanders after drawing his 2nd unsportsmanlike conduct charge of the video game, then flashed 2 middle fingers at the crowd on his method to the tunnel.

The Bills went into Sunday 4-1, while the Raiders was available in at 3-2.
