The leader Bishop of the Missionary Diocese of Idanre Rt Revd Olubode Abimbola Otenaike on behalf of the members of the Diocese composed a moving fourth-year remembrance homage on the entering splendor The Most Rev ‘d Humphrey Bamisebi Olumakaiye Ph.D.
He stated: “Four years back, the Church of Nigeria and Idanre Kingdom lost a giant– The Most Rev ‘d Dr. Humphrey Bamisebi Olumakaiye.”
The homage read:

* A LOVING AND RESPONSIBLE SON OF IDANRE *
His Cathedral was in Lagos, his navel cable was in Idanre. He always remembered his source. In every event, he would happily state * “I am an Idanre male”*. He enjoyed Idanre passionately, served Idanre selflessly, and brought Idanre name with honour to the greatest seat of the Church
He was a real child– considerate to the Owa, caring to his individuals, generous to his home church and town.
* A PRINCE OF THE CHURCH *
From Bishop of Osun North East, to Bishop of Lagos, to Archbishop of Lagos Province– his increase was meteoric however not unexpected. *”It was constructed on intelligence, holiness, effort, evangelical enthusiasm and unusual charm *
He was a preacher of the Word, a home builder of Churches, an enthusiast of youth, and a dad to priests.
* A PREMATURE EXIT *
He passed away in his prime. Still young, still strong, still filled with vision. Oh death! Where is thy sting? The Church believed he had 20 more years to offer. God, in His sovereignty, called him home at 53.
He left:
— * An aged mom * who nursed him– might God convenience Mama.
— * A cherished partner, Prof. Mrs. Motunrayo Olumakaiye *– a virtuous lady who waited him through ministry and academic community.
— * A boy *– his heritage and future.
— * Siblings, household, and the entire Church of Nigeria * who still grieve him.
* OUR COMFORT *
We do not grief as those without hope. * Archbishop Humphrey * resides on. He resides in the traditions he left in Lagos Diocese. He resides in the countless souls he won for Christ.
Idanre has actually lost a kid, however Heaven has actually acquired a Bishop.
