The last time the Packers and Cowboys met on a Sunday night, it resulted in a 40-40 tie and one of the NFL’s best games of 2025. What do they have in store this time around?

Two of the NFC’s most historic franchises meet on “Sunday Night Football” in Week 6, and both could use a win in what’s shaping up to be a competitive race in their respective divisions. Green Bay has dug out of an early 1-2 hole, beating Tampa Bay in Chicago in the last two weeks as Jordan Love (1,408 yards, 10 TDs) has been heating up.

Dallas, meanwhile, is coming off a rough loss to the Buccaneers in prime time. And while the Cowboys’ offense remains one of the NFL’s most high-powered attacks, the addition of Joey Porter Jr. to the defense has yet to improve Brian Schottenheimer’s unit. With the Giants, Commanders and Eagles all facing their own questions, the Cowboys could have an opportunity to pull ahead in the NFC East.

While Micah Parsons wasn’t able to return in time from his torn ACL to add another storyline to this matchup, it should still be plenty competitive between two of the NFC’s top offenses.

The Sporting News is tracking live updates, highlights and more from Cowboys vs. Packers on “SNF.” Follow along with the action below.

Cowboys vs. Packers live updates, highlights from NFL ‘Sunday Night Football’ game

(All times ET).

End of fourth quarter: Packers 23, Cowboys 13

11:43 p.m.: TOUCHDOWN! Ryan Flournoy tallies a consolation score for Dallas. The two-point conversion goes wayward. It’s all cosmetic at this point; Green Bay is almost assured to win this game.

Packers 23, Cowboys 13

11:27 p.m.: TURNOVER ON DOWNS! Prescott’s fourth-down prayer misses its mark. The Packers look like they’re going to hold on!

11:16 p.m.: Carrington Valentine looked to have secured a game-clinching interception on Prescott. However, the play was ruled null after Lukas Van Ness was whistled for a roughing the passer. The “foul” looked dubious, to say the least.

11:02 p.m.: FIELD GOAL! Trey Smack splits the upright from short-range. The Packers’ lead swells to 16.

10:59 p.m.: Golden is getting anything he wants in this one. The second-year wideout created separation with a stutter-step at the line of scrimmage before collecting another Love throw. He’s up to 104 yards on the day.

10:52 p.m.: TURNOVER ON DOWNS! Prescott was unable to find Lamb on fourth-and-short! The Packers will take over from the 50!

End of third quarter: Packers 20, Cowboys 7

10:40 p.m.: The Cowboys defense has looked much improved in the third quarter. Parker’s unit just sieged Love’s pocket, leaving him on the canvas on third down. Dallas will look to inch back into this one before the third quarter comes to a close.

10:28 p.m.: FIELD GOAL! Green Bay settles for the triple. It could have been so much had the ball not slithered through Watson’s grasp.

Packers 20, Cowboys 7

10:27 p.m.: The drops are starting to pile up for the Packers. Love thought he found Watson with a delicate toss in the end zone. However, the hulking wideout saw the ball slip through his hands. Matt LaFleur will be rueing leaving points on the board in this one.

10:15 p.m.: TOUCHDOWN! Javonte Williams breaches the plane from short distance to get Dallas on the board. That’s his seventh score of the season, the second-best mark in the league thus far.

Packers 17, Cowboys 7

10:05 p.m.: Dallas fends Green Bay’s attack off! For the first time since Love’s interception, the Cowboys will get the ball back having not conceded on the prior drive.

10:00 p.m.: Back to life here at Lambeau Field. The Packers will start the frame with possession. They have a chance to make this scoreline even more crooked.

End of second quarter

9:50 p.m.: TOUCHDOWN! After some strong work from Golden — who very well could have three scores if he got his catching right — Love trundles in from short range to bring Green Bay’s advantage to 17. This one is looking ugly early.

9:40 p.m.: INTERCEPTION! Dallas is floundering. So too is its star pass-catcher, Lamb. The All-Pro wideout slipped and fell while Prescott sent a pass his way. It landed in Green Bay arms courtesy of rookie Brandon Cisse. Another promising Cowboys drive goes wanting. It will be hard to overcome Green Bay’s advantage with miscues like this.

9:25 p.m.: FIELD GOAL! After flirting with going for it on fouth-and-goal, the Packers settle for a chip shot trifecta to push their advantage to double-digits.

9:19 p.m.: Pierre Strong is giving Green Bay some valuable minutes thus far. Moved the chains with a pair of catches earlier in the contest. Now, he has the Packers on the cusp of the end zone via two surging runs through the tackles.

9:15 p.m.: Golden has one score. He really should have another. The Packers wideout burned his marker on the go route. Love found him with a deft throw. But just as the former Longhorn raced towards the end zone, the ball slipped through his grasp.

9:05 p.m.: INTERCEPTION! Prescott gives on back to Green Bay! Evan Williams makes the play, under-cutting Lamb’s route to retrieve the rebellious orb.

9:04 p.m.: Prescott took quite the blow while attempting to find CeeDee Lamb in the corner of the end zone. Zaire Franklin got him good in his mid-section. Looks like he’s still feeling the after-effects as he lines up for third down.

End of first quarter: Packers 7, Cowboys 0

8:58 p.m.: Golden placed the slightest touch on Winters, rendering the Cowboys defender’s pick-six null and void. The Cowboys will get the ball just outside of Green Bay’s 40, however. They’ll be looking for points here.

8:54 p.m.: INTERCEPTION! That’s just what the Cowboys needed! Love was looking for Golden in the slot, who was matched up against linebacker Dee Winters. Golden jinked to the left before surging towards the corner. Winters matched him stride-for-stride, plucking Love’s prospective pass and taking it the distance to put Dallas on the board. Replay review is needed to make sure he wasn’t down when he corralled the unruly toss. Either way, Winters’ grab represents the first Dallas’ defense has recorded this season.

8:41 p.m.: TOUCHDOWN! Golden looks like the hot hand early. The Texas product carved out some space via the stunt and slant. He was greeted by an inch-perfect toss by Love in the back of the end zone. Dallas’ defense didn’t look too impressive in its opening audition. Brian Schottenheimer’s side will need better going forward

8:34 p.m.: Green Bay’s pass-catchers are already wreaking havoc on the Cowboys’ defense. Christian Watson found space to move the chain on third-and-long.

One play later, Matthew Golden creates space before getting a hold of a lofted Love effort. He rambled 37 yards to put the Packers on the cusp of the goal-line.

However, the glow of his impressive reception was slightly diminished after he was handed a dubious unsportsmanlike conduct penalty for taunting. We’ll let you be the judge of whether his gesture deserved such punishment.

8:31 p.m.: Ho-hum start for Dallas’ offense on its opening drive. On one hand, Dak Prescott is a perfect 3-for-3. On the other, he only accounted for nine yards as the Cowboys are forced to punt.

8:24 p.m.: And we’re off! Cowboys win the kickoff and elect to receive. The penultimate game of the Week 6 slate is underway!

Pre-game

8:20 p.m.: After a lackluster start to the season, Jordan Love and Co. has found life in recent weeks. Green Bay’s hurler tallied 367 yards and two scores in the Packers’ blowout win over the Bears last week. He’ll look to put forth a similar outing against Dallas’ backline, which has looked porous at times.

8:15 p.m.: Last year’s reverse fixture saw the Packers and Cowboys lock horns in one of the most intriguing draws in league history. Here’s hoping the outing will take on a similar disposition (minus the tie) this time around.

7:55 p.m.: It wouldn’t be a rivalry game without some fireworks. The Packers and Cowboys look to have had a bit of a fracas ahead of kickoff. We’ll see if that intensity carries over to the real thing in T-minus 20 minutes.

6:15 p.m.: Christian Parker will be a major topic of discussion in tonight’s contest. The Cowboys’ defensive coordinator hasn’t made the greatest start to life in Dallas colors — the Cowboys are conceding more than 27 points per game thus this season, the seventh-worst mark in football.
