Craig Melvin reveals emotional reaction to major news away from Today Show as fans support

On October 7, Craig Melvin returned home to Columbia, South Carolina, for an unique honour. The Today Show host was granted the inaugural Ripples of Impact Medal from Mayor Daniel Rickenmann for his services to the neighborhood.

The NBC star required to Instagram on Friday to pen a genuine message to his fans following the homage. Together with a picture of him positioning with his partner, Lindsay Czarniak, and Mayor Daniel, Craig composed: “I’ve always been proud to call Columbia home, and this week was a reminder of just how much this community means to me. On Wednesday, I had the honor of receiving the inaugural Ripples of Impact Medal from Mayor Daniel Rickenmann in my hometown of Columbia, South Carolina.”

He continued: “Being back with so many of the folks who helped shape me, encouraged me, and continue to support me made the recognition that much more meaningful. I’m incredibly grateful for this honor, but even more grateful for the people and the community that helped make me who I am today.”

Craig looked suave in a dove-gray fit customized for the event, using his blue medal around his neck with pride. Lindsay looked elegant in a navy-blue dress that included an uneven neck line with a subtle knee-high slit.The NBC host was flooded with assistance by his fans in the remarks area. “Congratulations Craig! This is so well deserved,” penned one social networks user. “You are the best Craig! So proud to know you and always cheering you on!” included another fan. “You are amazing Craig! I have watched you since i was a child and now love watching you every morning still as an adult. Congrats! Keep shining bright and keeping the glass half full,” composed a 3rd fan.

Craig signed up with as a routine host on the NBC program following Hoda Kotb’s departure in January 2025. Far from the program, Craig is a married man. The host and his spouse, Lindsay, satisfied while both operating at NBC Washington, with Craig employed as a news anchor in 2008 and Lindsay protecting the title of sports anchor. The set got married in 2011 with a wedding event in Washington D.C.– the city where they fulfilled– at the Church of the Holy City.
