Daisy Ridley Has an Oceanic Sci-Fi Fantasy Series in the Works

We might never ever get to see that Star Wars motion picture concentrated on Rey and the New Jedi Order– truly, who’s to state at this moment? If the galaxy far, far away is looking for Daisy Ridley, it may have to hop in a submarine to discover her. The star has actually signed up with a reimagining of Trip to the Bottom of the SeaIrwin Allen’s 1960s (however embeded in the futuristic ’70s and ’80s) television series based upon his 1961 film.

Allen likewise developed Lost in Spacewhich got a Netflix reboot that ran for 3 seasons, ending in 2021.

This brand-new take on his oceanic experience, Deadline reports, remains in the works from Legendary Television at Paramount+, with Akiva Goldsman (Star Trek: Strange New Worldstapped to compose and Matt Shakman (WandaVision, Monarch: Legacy of Monstersaboard to direct.

This sounds appealing, however wait till you check out the summary, which packs in a Daisy twin, federal government tricks, a sci-fi submarine, strange signs, and the lost city of Atlantis. It’s essentially whatever you enjoy about Looking for … (other than Leonard Nimoy, though Goldsman does have those Trek ties) in one program.

“The brand-new Trip to the Bottom of the Sea series follows fantastic ocean researcher Lee Crane (Ridley), who is pulled into a classified federal government program after a disastrous Arctic exploration declares the life of her twin sis. At the center of the program is the USS Seaviewa retro-futuristic submarine discovered entombed in the ice, marked with signs from a history that should not exist, and it powers up just when Lee actions aboard.

Thrust into command of a pressure-cooker team and an anxious alliance with federal government power brokers, Lee leads Seaview on bold undersea objectives to include strange forces dripping into our world, all while revealing a surprise fact about the oceans, a removed chapter of human history, and the once-thought legendary city of Atlantis.”
