Before her death at 80 in August, Dolly Parton taped an unique homage to music instructors, and on Thursday (Oct. 8) the Country Music Association shared a clip of the minute presented by Zac Brown in which the late nation icon loaded appreciation on the trainers whose enthusiasm has actually influenced the next generation to get instruments.
“Not long before we lost her, Dolly tape-recorded an unique message for the instructors in this space,” stated Brown throughout Wednesday’s (Oct. 7) event for the Country Music Association Foundation’s 10th yearly Music Teachers of Excellence occasion, held at Parton’s just recently opened Nashville SongTeller Hotel. “She put in the time to speak straight to you and I can’t consider a much better method to start this night.”
Parton, whose tradition consists of an unequaled brochure of traditional nation hits, was a long-lasting supporter for literacy and education and Brown stated her dedication to developing chances for others became part of the magic of her life.
“Well, hey there, it’s Dolly! And I am so delighted to invite you to Nashville as the CMA Foundation commemorates 10 years of Music Teachers of Excellence,” Parton stated brilliantly in the clip. “I’ve constantly thought that music brings individuals together. None of that occurs without committed instructors who motivate, motivate and think in the next generation. Which’s why we’re commemorating tonight. And to every music instructor of quality, I wish to thank you for your enthusiasm, perseverance and care that you provide your trainees every day. Congratulations on this extraordinary turning point and keep making gorgeous music together.”
Amongst Parton’s charitable efforts targeted at education was her Imagination Library, which has actually dispersed more than 300 million books to kids worldwide over the previous 30 years.
Parton passed away on Aug. 25 following what was referred to as brief fight with cancer and the CMA instructor’s award occasion marks the 2nd posthumous video look from the precious nation legend. Last month, Parton made a surprise look at the 2026 Americana Awards and Honors at Ryman Auditorium in Nashville in a message taped before her death accepting the company’s Lifetime Achievement Award.
“I’m honored to be getting a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Americana Music Association,” Parton stated in the video. “Roots music, or what is now called Americana music, is what I matured repeating in the Smoky Mountains. It’s that very same music that drew me back to East Tennessee in 1997 to compose and tape my album, Starving AgainWhich task truly unlocked to a series of bluegrass and acoustic albums that altered the course of my profession in many methods.”
