The very first appearance of Amit Masurkar’s next production Dreamboata 24-minute dream brief movie, was revealed on Thursday. The movie is set to have its opening night at Dharamshala International Film Festival.
Including Sofia Ashraf, Supriya Joshi, Tenzin Dalha and Prayrak Mehta in lead cast, Dreamboat follows the story of an underground artist whose non-traditional love with her cherished pillow is strongly interrupted by her mom. As she spirals into a delirious odyssey through Mumbai, looking for love and connection in a significantly alienating city, her relationships, desires, and grip on truth are evaluated by an enigmatic homeless poet.
The movie marks acting launching for Sofia, the rap artist, artist and activist understood for her viral demonstration single ‘Kodaikanal Won’t.’ The supporting cast consists of Moses Koul and Gurpal Singh.
Aastha Tiku who makes her directorial launching with the brief, is understood for composing Sherni (2021 ). Aastha stated on the celebration, “Dreamboat actually concerned me in a dream and I invested a couple of months attempting to analyze it and mould it into a movie script. I desired the world of the movie to feel relatable, at the very same time coded in dream reasoning. Through the dream category with a female lead character the intent was to catch the relationship of an artist and her muse – a pillow. The movie enabled me to follow my impulses and make something sincere, punk and experiential.”
Amit Masurkar, who is understood for Newton (2017 ), Sherni (2021) and the cult indie funny Sulemani Keeda (2014 ), included, “What drew me to Dreamboat was its non-traditional facility and the treatment boards Aastha had actually gotten ready for the movie. I like how she utilized popular culture, music, colour, language, style to develop this campy and surreal fever dream. We are thrilled to start our celebration journey with DIFF.”
DIFF is arranged in between October 29 to November 1, 2026.
