With his” Carrie “mini-series now on streaming and the trailer for his”The Exorcist: Martyrs “having actually simply released, filmmaker Mike Flanagan has actually exposed some other dream tasks of his.
In an Ask Me Anything (AMA) on RedditFlanagan stated he’s far more open up to doing existing big franchises and follows up now than he wanted making those 2 jobs.
He states 2 possible dream tasks for him would be taking on franchises that started under Steven Spielberg’s tutelage, however have actually because been watered down by some drab follows up:
“I invested a great deal of my profession believing I would not do franchises or follows up, and– whoops– however I truly enjoy getting to play in a world I understand and regard and love, and put my own spin on it.
Truthfully, I want to hell I might make a JAWS motion picture. Another example where nobody will EVER get near the initial, however there is a lots of space for enhancement on the follows up. A JURASSIC film might be a blast too, I ‘d wish to go actually frightening with it. A real dinosaur scary movie would be a blast.”
Spielberg’s initial “Jaws” stays among the most landmark movies of perpetuity. 3 years later on, French filmmaker Jeannot Szwarc (“Somewhere in Time,” “Supergirl”) helmed “Jaws 2” which was not from another location in the league of the very first movie.
In time (and just like Peter Hyams’ “2010” or Richard Franklin’s “Psycho II”), it has actually discovered a fanbase of its own regardless of its defects and is viewed as miles much better than the 3rd and 4th movies, which are typically identified a few of the worst films ever made.
