Pochettino: I want to be involved more on transfer decisions.
Pochettino has admitted his desire to be involved more in transfer decisions in order for him to work with ease as he will be more in touch with players whom are on his plans and the ones suitable for his project. Chelsea have been signing so many talents but it’s now on the coache’s hands to bring out his best squad from this large number of players as several have ended up being loaned a contradiction to what was thought that they will be integrated into the first team.
The new Chelsea manager has started laying his basis on his Chelsea project and already there have been a little confusion on outgoing transfers where he has always defended himself that he will only work with players who want to be at the club but later news leak out that the club is forcing some players out but on Pochettino’s side he says that he needs the players. Several names like Gallagher, Chalobah, Maatsen and Cucurella are players whose future at Chelsea looks shaky but Pochettino has been in use of them despite the club position that if good offers arrive they might be on their way out of the club.

Pochettino when asked on the Cucurella situation and his failed move to United he replied by “I wasn’t involved but he’s our player and I’ve been clear: he has chances, he can play. Marc is going to work hard. It’s really clear. he’s in our plan and if he deserves to play, he will play.” Chelsea currently have got a shortage at right back position after Gusto got red carded and James still on injury. The player was inverted to play on that position and he impressed and there are high chances he starts against Fulham.

Pochettino has already shown an indication that Chelsea will still be in the transfer market in January. The coach admitted that he is still looking for options which could strengthen key areas where there is shortage. Chelsea are currently looking for a striker and sources say that Ivan Toney and Osimhen are the names being considered.
