Leicester city defender Vastegaard has confirmed he turned down Saudi offers.

Leicester city defender Jannik Vastegaard has confirmed in an interview with Tipsbladet, a Danish media outlet that he turned down offers from Saudi Arabia clubs during the summer transfer window and he doesn’t regret his decision as in his career every decision counts as what is best for him in terms of sports and he will never choose ideas based on finances.

Vastegaard’s fate during this period was at stake after he was frozen out of the squad by Brendan Rodgers who was the coach at that time. The player had done an interview on March 2023 and criticised his coach, Brendan Rodgers who had sidelined him and rarely used him and the poor performance by the club which led to the club being demoted to Championship. A month later Rodgers was sacked by Leicester Football club while Vastegaard had been dropped to the reserve by the coach after the critics on the interview.

The Leicester city defender has revived his career under Enzo Maresco and has had an impressive season with Leicester City at the championship where he has made 15 appearances out of 16 games played so far in the championship and has scored one goal. This has made him earn a call up for the Euro qualification matches with the Denmark national team.
