I’ve always had a soft spot for colorful Christmas lights. Some of my favorite childhood holiday memories involve the big, bright bulbs on Christmas trees and the colorful lights decorating houses around the neighborhood. For me, the bigger the bulb, the better! There’s something about that old-fashioned glow that instantly makes the holidays feel magical.
So when I had the chance to test a prelit Christmas tree from Lowe’s featuring oversized, multicolored bulbs, I was ecstatic. Our team is no stranger to finding the best artificial Christmas trees, but this one caught my eye for a more personal reason: It reminded me of the holiday decor I grew up loving.
Holiday trends have a way of coming full circle, and I have a feeling these nostalgic lights are about to have their moment again. If you love the charm of old-fashioned Christmas decor as much as I do, this is one tree I’d keep an eye on before it sells out.
This prelit Christmas tree features oversized, multicolored bulbs that bring a nostalgic, old-fashioned feel to your home.
What is the Holiday Living Prelit Christmas tree?
The Holiday Living 7.5-foot prelit Christmas tree from Lowe’s puts a nostalgic spin on traditional holiday decor. It features 450 large, multicolored C7 LED lights, giving it a big, colorful look that makes it stand out. With 2,969 lifelike branch tips, a full shape and a 52-inch width, it offers plenty of room for ornaments while making a festive statement on its own.
The tree also features Quick Set technology, which connects the lights automatically when you slide the tree sections together, so there’s no need to connect separate light strands. It comes with a folding metal stand, an on/off foot pedal and replacement lights and parts, plus a two-year limited warranty. Shoppers can also purchase the 5-foot version, as well as an optional Lowe’s Protection Plan, which offers two- or three-year coverage on all their trees.
Arrival and Unboxing

Shipping was incredibly fast and seamless. My tree arrived less than 24 hours after I placed my order, and Lowe’s provided detailed tracking updates, so I knew exactly when to expect the delivery down to the minute (which was extremely convenient, as I was able to direct the driver to place the box in my garage). The boxed tree arrived in good condition and even had two handles, making it easy for me to lift and carry into my house on my own.
Unboxing was just as simple. Inside, I found the assembly instructions, a few replacement lights and parts, the folding metal stand and the tree itself, which came in three sections. The bottom section also had the power cord and an on/off foot pedal, a convenient feature for turning the lights on and off without bending down to reach the plug.
Setup

The tree comes with assembly instructions, though I found setup fairly intuitive without them. I’d still recommend holding on to them for future troubleshooting. The metal stand was easy to unfold and lock into place, and each tree section fit together smoothly, thanks to arrows that indicate how the pieces should align.
The branches feature two needle styles, which add texture and help give the tree a fuller, more natural appearance. Fluffing the branches was straightforward, too, although I learned one helpful lesson along the way: Fluff the top section before attaching it to the rest of the tree. Reaching the highest branches once the tree is fully assembled can be tricky! I ended up removing the top section to finish fluffing it, which was easy enough and gave me confidence that taking the tree down at the end of the season should be just as manageable.
Lights

With the press of a button, the tree came to life—and the lights are easily my favorite part. Truthfully, they’re even better in person. Sometimes multicolored LED lights can look a little too uniform or modern, but these have that big, bright, old-fashioned charm I remember from childhood. The oversized bulbs give the tree a cheerful, nostalgic glow that instantly makes the whole room feel more festive.
One thing to know is that the lights have just one setting: a constant pattern with no customization or flashing effects. Personally, I don’t mind this at all, since the classic, steady glow is exactly what I want from this style of tree.
This tree far exceeded my expectations, and I’m genuinely excited to share it with others who love this style of holiday decor as much as I do. Part of what makes the holidays so special is revisiting the traditions we loved as kids, whether that’s admiring colorful lights or counting down to the big day with one of the best Advent calendars. Add in the easy setup and convenient foot pedal for switching the lights on and off, and this tree will be a keepsake for years to come. If you’ve been looking for a tree that brings back the magic of childhood holidays, this one is worth a look.
