The story follows Sterling, whose ordinary life changes when a mysterious sapphire blue light transports him to an unknown realm. There, he discovers the Constellation Tower and the twelve powerful Zodians, only to learn that he may be the mysterious Thirteenth, a figure connected to an ancient secret spanning multiple realms.
As Sterling discovers unexpected abilities and develops a unique connection with the Zodians, he is drawn into a growing threat known as the Decaying Blight, a destructive force endangering the balance between worlds.
Blending fantasy, adventure, humour, friendship and personal discovery, the novel also places LGBTQ+ characters at the heart of its story. Created as a passion project, The Serpent and The Shell marks the beginning of The Thirteenth Zodiac series and opens the door to a much larger story of mystery, danger and discovery.
