New American Funding adds Mullinix Mortgage Group

New American Funding (NAF) announced on Monday the expansion of its presence in North Carolina and South Carolina with the addition of the Mullinix Mortgage Group, led by North Carolina loan officer Will Mullinix.

Mullinix has originated more than $2 billion in mortgages over more than 20 years in the industry. According to the HousingWire Mortgage Rankings, Mullinix ranked No. 32 nationally in purchase volume last year with a total of $197.2 million across 355 units.

The Mullinix Mortgage Group is licensed in North Carolina, South Carolina, Maryland, Virginia, Tennessee, Georgia and Florida. The team focuses on residential purchase and refinance lending while serving homebuyers from offices in Charlotte and Wrightsville Beach, North Carolina.

“New American Funding has a mom-and-pop feel, but with a larger, expansive product platform and national reach,” Mullinix said. “There’s also a strong culture fit and it was just the right move for us and our clients.”

The group’s loan officers and support staff also are joining New American Funding, including Taylor Linde, Morgan Wise, Lenzi Moore, Don Walker and Marty Pizzo.

“Will Mullinix is the top-producing loan officer in North Carolina, and he got there by putting his clients first every single day,” said Pat Bolan, chief production officer at New American Funding.

Mullinix joined the lender to build and expand his team, Bolan said, adding that the company plans to support that growth with its technology and operational resources.

Those resources include Vesta, New American Funding’s AI-native loan origination system, which is scheduled to begin rolling out in 2027.
