Top half as things stand
As we wait for the games to get back underway, shall we take a look at the top half, seeing as most of these teams are in it?
All looking good for Brentford in terms of the table at this moment in time, but how long will it look like this after that red card? Let’s see.

HALF-TIME: Brentford 1-0 Liverpool
The whistle finally goes.
It had been a very frustrating afternoon for Liverpool, missing big chances and going behind.
But Yehor Yarmoliuk has given them some hope, getting sent off just before the break.
Plenty more to come.

Brentford 1-0 Liverpool
We are now 10 minutes into first-half stoppage time here at the Gtech. Yep, 10.
And still, we have more to come. This is crazy.

VAR: RED CARD TO BRENTFORD!
Brentford are down to ten men!
After the euphoria of taking the lead, the Bees are now in real trouble here in west London.
Yehor Yarmoliuk is sent off after review, and well, he can have ZERO complaints about that.
Time to park the bus.

VAR CHECKING FOR RED CARD – Brentford
Yehor Yarmoliuk is in trouble here.
The Brentford man looks to have headbutted Jeremy Jacquet; what in the hell is he thinking?
Rodrigo Bentancur was sent off for this last week, and well, surely Yarmoliuk has to go.
VAR are checking.

HALF-TIME: Man City 2-1 Ipswich
Manchester City are on their way to another win.
Phil Foden and Erling Haaland have City in the lead at the Etihad, with victory number seven on the horizon.
Bananas being waved all around.

HALF-TIME: Fulham 1-0 Hull
So far, so good for Alvaro Arbeloa.
The under-pressure boss has some relief as his side lead at the break thanks to Alex Iwobi.
Fully deserved, you have to say. The Cottagers have been dominant.

Goal:Brentford 1-0 Liverpool (Lewis-Potter 44′)
CLASSIC!
Brentford think they have given a penalty away at one end, then at the other, they go and take the lead moments later. Crazy.
Dango Ouattara involved yet again, sending in Keane Lewis-Potter, who heads in brilliantly.
The Bees at their best.

‘Ouattara clearly wins the ball’
Lewis Steele at Gtech Community Stadium
Not sure what referee Jonathan Brooks was seeing there. He was right next to the incident when Dango Ouattara clearly wins the ball when competing with Alexis Mac Allister – but gives a penalty.
Luckily we have VAR (not said that before!) and it’s overturned. Although Florian Wirtz had a penalty shout a few minutes ago that looked more of a foul.

VAR: NO PENALTY! – Liverpool
A reprieve for Brentford.
Dango Ouattara gets to the ball before Alexis Mac Allister, so that is never a pen. Can’t believe it was given, personally.
Liverpool just can’t get that breakthrough.

PENALTY TO LIVERPOOL!
The pressure has been building… and now Liverpool have a penalty.
Alexis Mac Allister goes down in the box but my word, that is so, so soft.
Surely this is going to be overtuned; it has to be. The ref is going to the monitor.

CHANCE! Brentford 0-0 Liverpool
It just isn’t Bradley Barcola’s day today.
Everything he touched on Wednesday seemed to go in, but it’s the opposite this afternoon.
Florian Wirtz sets up Barcola who bends one at goal, but it goes comfortably wide of the mark.
Should do better.
