Saliba signs new four year deal at Arsenal.
Done Deal; William Saliba sign a new contract renewal until June 2027,with an option for a further year.
Arsenal have tied down the young french defender with a four year deal valid until 2027 with an option for a further year. He got a pay rise of £210,000 a week and will wear jersey number #2 next season.
Arsenal invested £27m in 2019 summer window transfer, when they signed by then 18yrs old defender from Saint Etienne. Saliba was then loaned to the greens the following season to gain much needed experience.
2020/21 season he was loaned back to french league one nice where he continued his development. The following season 2021/22, Saliba was loaned again to league one side, Olympic Marseille where he was voted the best young defender in league one that season.
His performance in league one that season tempted french national coach Didier Deschamps to give him his maiden international debut. He was later selected for the French world cup squad, who ended the tournament as runners up after loosing the final to Argentina.
Last summer, Arsenal recalled him and Mikel Arteta integrated him to his youthful promising side. He made 33 appearances for the Gunners in all competition, in an Arsenal side that looked promising to chase the premier league title against Pep Guardiola Manchester city. He missed the final 11 games of the season through injury, which was a big lose to Arsenal who eventually missed out the premier league title to rivals Manchester city by a thin Margin.
His physical presence, robustness and good footwork have made him to quickly adapt to the high demanding English football, making him an integro member of Mikel Arteta young squad. Saliba is happy to continue at Arsenal.
