A reading app for kids who have actually simply discovered their phonics sounds and require something genuine to check out. Every word in a story can be sounded out with the noises they currently understand. When they get stuck, they tap the word and its sound buttons appear right there.
I made it for my child Yara. She’s 6 and enjoys shine, magic and dragons. She ‘d ended up Teach Your Monster to Read and I could not discover anything for her to check out next that was both an excellent story and made just of words she might sound out. Her huge sibling Tom composed the very first story, and the app is constructed so there can be much more.

It’s a Cloudflare Worker with fixed possessions, D1 for information and R2 for photos. No develop action. If you’re a tech daddy(or mum )with a kid who’s discovering to check out, I ‘d like you to take this and make it yours.

- It works signed out. That’s the entire app, with the noises and development kept in the web browser. Accounts (therefore representatives )utilize
login.finereli.comwhich just serves my own apps. To run accounts yourself, swap in your own sign-in:public/login.jsand
src/verify-login.jsare the only files that learn about it. - The noises are my voicetape-recorded for the tiles, and they aren’t in this repository. Without them the tiles still illuminate however remain peaceful. Tape your own with
tools/sounds-record.mjs(see the remark at the top). Words are spoken by Cloudflare Workers AI, so releasing requirements an account with that allowed. - Compose a story: copy
content/stories/toby-1.jsonmodify the pages, runnpm run checkIt informs you every word your kid can’t check out. Never ever loosen up the noises to make a story pass: reword the story.docs/vocabulary.mdhas the line of what to teach next. - Pictures:
