“Steven Gerrard was my Idol as a child… ” -says new Liverpool number 8

Klopp continue to rebuild his midfield, after completing the signing of Leipzig attacking midfielder, Dominik Szoboszlai for €70m fee on a 5yrs deal. The Hungarian midfielder have become a hot young prospect in Europe for the past two years. Since making his move from Salzburg to Leipzig Dominik have really developed to one of the best young attacking midfielders in Europe.

After the exit of Naby Keita, Alex chemberlain and James Milner Liverpool were tasked to rebuild their midfield options. Liverpool have already completed the signing of Alexis Mac Allister from Brighton. The combination of Alexis and Dominik will be joy to watch.

Dominik Szoboszlai can play as a deep 8 and also as a 10. During his time at Leipzig Dominik Szoboszlai, played in 91matches scoring 20goals  and 22 assits as well being two time German cup winner.

Speaking during his club presentation Dominik said he drew much admiration to club legend Steven Gerrard as he chose the iconic number 8 jersey number…… “I will be number 8 as I have a tattoo from Steven Gerrard… That was the reason why. He was one of the biggest when I was a child…. ”says Dominik Szoboszlai during his presentation.

Klopp who was present during his new had this to say about his new midfielder. “yes he called me, it’s true. I said ok, this is going to be very good thing. Everything was perfect.. ”
