Glasgow, UK|21 October 2026– The speed of advancement in quantum innovations continues to speed up, and over the previous couple of months, area engineering business Craft Prospect has actually been associated with discussions throughout the UK, Europe, Japan and the United States checking out the future of safe interactions.
Taking quantum innovation from the laboratory to orbit
Senior Quantum Engineer Andrew Kelly provided at 2 essential market occasions this year. At the 9th Yearly ScyLight Conference in Tenerife, he signed up with the Quantum Mission session to go over the quantum and optical CubeSat payloads being established for the EUR20 million OPS-SAT VOLT objectiveThe conference united leaders from throughout Europe and supplied a perfect online forum to talk about how emerging quantum abilities can be incorporated into future area systems.
At Newton Q 2026Andrew provided’From Optical Table to Orbit: Quantum Technology for Industry and Space’checking out the engineering obstacles associated with changing quantum research study into deployable items and space-qualified systems. Conversations throughout the occasion highlighted growing interest in quantum interactions, cybersecurity, photonics, and the facilities needed to support future quantum networks.
Growing global interest
As federal governments and market boost financial investment in area and quantum innovation, worldwide cooperation is ending up being significantly crucial.
At SPACETIDE 2026kept in Tokyo in July, Craft Prospect Managing Director Steve Greenland took part in conversations around UK-Japan cooperation, area security, and the innovations needed to develop protected and durable area facilities. Those discussions strengthened a clear pattern: countries are actively checking out how quantum innovations collaborate to support future nationwide abilities.
At ESA’s Quantum Technology Workshop in July, Quantum Technology Lead Natalie Pearson and Sales Engineer Rory Ireland engaged with organisations from throughout the European area sector, talking about emerging innovations and checking out chances for future cooperation.
Showcasing the quantum CubeSat vision
At SmallSat 2026 in Salt Lake City in August, the discussion moved from future ideas to useful application.
As part of Craft Prospect’s activities throughout the conference, Head of Engineering Kevin Quillien provided deal with The Quantum CubeSatwhile Head of Commercial Hina Khan and AI Lead Lucy Donnell showcased development on OPS-SAT VOLT together with partners Bright Ascension
The reaction highlighted considerable interest in objectives efficient in showing safe and secure interactions, optical networking, autonomy, and quantum-enabled innovations in orbit.

Increasing need for presentation platforms
Throughout every occasion, one message corresponded: organisations wish to move beyond theory and start evaluating quantum innovations in reasonable functional environments.
That growing need is among the chauffeurs behind Craft Prospect’s advancement of a brand-new Quantum Key Distribution (QKD) Space Network Emulator
The platform is created to supply a useful environment for showing, incorporating, and screening QKD innovations before implementation, assisting market, scientists, and objective groups lower threat and speed up advancement.
As momentum continues to develop around protected interactions and quantum networking, centers that allow quick experimentation and recognition are ending up being significantly crucial.
Looking ahead
A repeating style throughout every occasion was the growing merging of quantum innovations and area systems. As optical interactions, quantum-secure networking, QKD and smart self-governing platforms grow, they are ending up being essential enablers of the next generation of Smart Secure Space
With quantum innovations significantly moving from research study to release, Craft Prospect continues to establish the abilities required to support more safe, durable and smart area systems.
