And investigators with Toronto Police have turned to the public to help identify a pair of suspects wanted for the aggravated assault that left the victim with serious injuries.

Police said, on Oct. 3 at approximately 1:45 a.m., officers responded to a call for an assault in the Eglinton Ave. E. and Brimley Rd. area.

It was reported to responding officers that the victim had left an establishment in the area and was walking through the plaza alone when the two accused and an unknown man approached.

Cops allege the group of individuals assaulted the victim in an “unprovoked” attack and, as the victim attempted to get up, a second unknown suspect assaulted the victim.

The victim was transported to hospital with life-threatening injuries, police said.

Two days after the assault, one man was arrested.

Vincent Lewis, 31, was charged with aggravated assault and robbery.

Undeclared food seized at Pearson, travellers fined

A group of travellers were recently fined after undeclared food was seized by border agents at Pearson Airport.

The Canadian Border Services Agency said on social media Thursday that detector dog Aggie sniffed out more than 16 kilograms of undeclared food and animal products from travellers who had arrived from Pakistan.

Goat feet, chicken, ghee, and milk powder were among the items seized by the agents. The travellers were fined $1,350.

By law, all travellers entering Canada must declare all food, plant and animal products.

Failing to declare any of these products or to provide required permits or certificates to border officials can lead to the items being seized, fines and charges.
