Family background, Early childhood and education.

Born, Anthony Michael Gordon was born on 24th Feb 2001 in Kirkdale, Liverpool, England. He is the son of Nadine Gordon and Keith Gordon. The winger who bears the nickname ‘Gordo’ has two brothers.

Gordon comes from a middle class family as the income of his parents were classified in the middle category of the socioeconomic hierarchy in his birth place Kirkdale. The origin of his parents points from Kirkdale and his ethnicity is of white British which covers 78% of the population in England.

Early life and Education.

Anthony Gordon grew up in his birth place and spent more time with his brothers. During his childhood Gordon had only one dream of becoming a professional footballer and this determination wasn’t seen as just passing a fantasy. Gordon journey to football was inspired by Everton legend Leighton Baines on whom they played with before his retirement.

Gordon attended Alsop High school located at Walton in Liverpool and is the largest secondary school in Liverpool. At age 13 Gordon was transferred to Wade Deacon located nearby Everton Academy. The transfer to this school was due to his discovery of his love for football by his PE teacher.

Career build up.

Anthony Gordon tried his luck at Mersey side clubs Liverpool and Everton but he was rejected as the two clubs saw the youngster as fragile and bony. Gordon was forced to join Whiston Juniors with an aim of getting back to the top some day and his parents motivated him and gave him support.

Gordon’s dream of getting back to Everton was resurrected by Ian Duke a local area scout who was impressed by the youngster style of play and decided to recall him once again to the club but not all were convinced by the boy but later he was able to prove everyone wrong.

Everton

Anthony Gordon joined Everton at age of 11 and rose through the ranks of the club before making his debut aged 16 years when he came in as a substitute in a Europa league match against Apollon Limassol. On January 18 Gordon made his premier league debut when he came in as a substitute in 1-1 draw against West Ham. Due to his impressiveness in the time given Everton gave him a five year contract.

On February 1 2021, Gordon was sent on loan to Preston North End for the remainder of 2020/21 season.

In December 16 2021 he registered his first assist for the club in a 1-1 draw against Chelsea and scored his first goal for the club on 2 January 2022 in a 3-2 loss against Brighton. Anthony Gordon was named the clubs young player of the season. Gordon was linked with Chelsea in 2022 summer later he submitted a transfer request letter to his club.

Newcastle

Anthony Gordon joined Newcastle on a long-term contract on 29 January 2023 on a fee reported to be £40 Million which could rise up to £45 Million after add ons. Gordon made his debut with his new club on 4th February when he came in as a substitute in a 1-1 draw against West Ham. Gordon scored his first goal for the club on 28th May against Chelsea where the match ended 1-1.

International career.

Gordon has represented his country in under 18, 19 and 21. On 14 June 2023 Gordon was included in the under 21 England squad for European championship Where he scored two crucial goals one in group stage and the other one in quarter final which sent England to semi final and was in the starting line up in the final which they won.

Personal life.

Anthony Gordon has a girlfriend Annie Keating and they announced their first kid together in 2023.

Apart from football Gordon likes playing basketball as a hobby and playing cards but the player never drinks alcohol. The player also loves hanging out with friends and also spending time with his parents and also friends.
