The Minnesota Vikings will kickoff their season on Sunday afternoon at U.S. Bank Stadium versus the department competing Green Bay Packers. What a method to begin the season. Can not request for anything much better than that.

Green Bay leads the all-time series 67-61-3however have actually lost 3 of the last 4 video games versus them.

These 2 groups last dealt with each other in Week 18 of last season. Stakes were not high. Green Bay had a wild card area clinched currently and did not play the majority of their beginners. Minnesota was currently gotten rid of and was simply seeking to end the season on a greater note.

J.J. McCarthy went 14/23 for 182 backyards before leaving the video game with an aching hand. Jordan Mason hurried for 94 backyards on 14 brings. Justin Jefferson captured 8 passes for 101 lawns. C.J. Ham hurried for a goal in what was his last video game after 9 seasons in the NFL( all with Minnesota).

On defense, Eric Wilson taped a team-high 9 takes on. Dallas Turner taped 2 of the group’s 4 sacks.

For Green Bay, Clayton Tune went 6/11 for 34 backyards. Chris Brooks hurried for 61 lawns on 13 brings. On defense, Jamon Johnson tape-recorded a game-high 10 takes on.

Minnesota won 16-3 and completed the season at 9-8. It was a frustrating season, however they ended it with 5 successive wins.

“The reality that our group had the ability to intend and focus through a time when rather truthfully some other groups would not states a lot about our gamers,” coach Kevin O’Connell stated

Green Bay completed the season at 9-7-1 and lost to the Chicago Bears 31-27 in the preliminary of the playoffs at Soldier Field.

The NFC North is really large open this year and despite the fact that it is just week one, every video game makes a huge distinction. If Minnesota wishes to challenge for a playoff area or a divisional title, it’s video games like these they require to win. This is a home video game and while Green Bay has a gifted lineup, they will lack Micah Parsons and Josh Jacobs.

No, the season would not be over for Minnesota by any methods currently if they lose, however it would be a dissatisfaction and might return to bite them later on.

Competition video games are constantly interesting for the fans, gamers, and coaches. They likewise can be extremely unforeseeable and bragging rights can be enjoyable too.

Minnesota’s defense must as soon as again be among the very best in the league if they remain healthy. They did lose Jonathan Greenard, however Turner has an opportunity to breakout this season in year 3. They likewise still have Andrew Van Ginkel, Blake Cashman, Wilson, Byron Murphy Jr, Isaiah Rodgers, and Jalen Redmond.

Harrison Smith simply revealed his go back to the group and they likewise included Kyle Van Noy and James Pierre to the lineup. Protective takes on Caleb Banks and Domonique Orange were prepared and both will have a chance to make a distinction this season.

How will the offense appearance with Kyler Murray? He definitely can not be even worse than McCarthy, Wentz, and Max Brosmer all looked last season under. Murray remaining healthy will be a big aspect. He missed out on 12 video games last season, 9 in 2023, and 6 in 2022.

When healthy he has actually revealed he can be a great quarterback. His movement likewise makes him a risk to defenses. He definitely will have the best supporting cast around him in Jefferson, Jordan Addison, Jauan Jennings, T.J. Hockenson, Mason, and Aaron Jones.

O’Connell is likewise great with seasoned quarterbacks. Sam Darnold had a fantastic year throughout his only season in Minnesota (2024 ). Murray might effectively do the exact same if healthy.

If Murray has even simply an excellent, not excellent year and Minnesota can mainly remain healthy, they have a possibility to amaze lots of. On paper this appears like a group that can not just make the playoffs, however possibly likewise win a championship game too for the very first time considering that 2019.

This is a video game Minnesota ought to win and it would be stunning if they do not.
