Yet beyond its meeting halls lies a destination that reflects a broader shift in how public spaces are designed today—one where business, hospitality, culture, and recreation converge on a single campus.
Set at the foot of Baiyun Mountain, the convention center is located in one of Guangzhou’s greenest urban districts.
Together with the Baiyun International Convention Hall, the complex spans more than 450,000 square meters.

More than 100 meeting rooms, over 1,000 guest rooms, and the capacity to host events for up to 10,000 delegates have made it one of South China’s leading convention venues, while hotels, restaurants, performance spaces, and landscaped gardens extend the experience across culture, commerce, travel, sports, and entertainment.

Its scale is impressive, but what leaves the strongest impression is the amount of space dedicated to life beyond the conference schedule.

Throughout the convention center, gardens and walking paths soften the transition between buildings.
Rooftop terraces frame panoramic views of Baiyun Mountain, while tree-lined avenues planted with golden trumpet trees, kapok and flame trees change character with the seasons.
Inside the International Convention Hall, a series of Lingnan-inspired courtyards introduce water, stone and planting, creating moments of calm between meetings and events.
The architecture follows the concept of the Baiyun Mountain Scenery, expressing the ideas of hospitality, courtesy, and openness through contemporary interpretations of traditional Lingnan design.

The experience extends well beyond business.
Guests can begin the day with a swim in the indoor heated pool or a workout at the Fitness Center in Block 1, challenge friends to a game of pickleball along the landscaped corridor connecting Blocks 1 and 2, enjoy table tennis in Block 2, or head to the gym in Block 5.

Easy to learn and highly social, pickleball adds a relaxed social element to staying active.

Dining forms another layer of the experience.

Together, the venues encourage visitors to linger long after an event has ended, transforming the campus into a place to dine as well as convene.

The center also hosts life’s more ceremonial gatherings.

Culture is equally woven into the destination.
The performing arts center ranks among the city’s most sophisticated venues, equipped with flexible stage systems capable of lifting, rotating and reconfiguring to support productions ranging from concerts and dance performances to large-scale theatrical works with elaborate stage design.

Professional acoustics, rehearsal facilities and adaptable backstage spaces allow the venue to host productions that demand both technical precision and creative freedom, bringing another dimension to the convention center beyond conferences and exhibitions.

Lingnan culture finds a lighter, more everyday expression here too.
‘Gift from Baiyun’ draws inspiration from the center’s architecture, art collection and Cantonese intangible cultural heritage, extending original characters such as ‘Cloud family’ into cultural and creative products alongside merchandise designed with younger tastes in mind.

Taken together, these different elements create a place that evolves throughout the day.
Delegates move between keynote sessions and landscaped courtyards.
Families gather for dinner after a performance.
Friends meet for pickleball before settling into the Lobby Bar for coffee.
Business travelers discover that a convention venue can also offer moments of leisure, while local residents increasingly find reasons to visit even when no conference is taking place.

As cities continue to blur the boundaries between work, culture and everyday life, Guangzhou Baiyun International Convention Center offers a glimpse of what the next generation of urban destinations can become.
It is no longer simply a venue where people come together for meetings.
It has grown into a place where people connect with ideas, with nature and with one another.
