The British University in Egypt: Key Partner in the 12th All-Africa University Games “Cairo 2026”

The British University in Egypt today opened the African Scientific Conference on University Sports “Cairo 2026” on its school, among numerous functions it is playing in the 12th All-Africa University Games.

Under the patronage of H.E. Professor Abdelaziz Konsowa, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research and Acting Minister of Culture, the conference was opened by President and Vice-Chancellor Professor Mohamed Loutfi MBE and H.E. Professor Ashraf Sobhy, President of the Federation of Africa University Sports(FASU )and previous Minister of Youth and Sports. The Games go to 16 September 2026.

The opening was participated in by Mr Leonz Eder, President of the International University Sports Federation(FISU), in addition to university leaders, academics, and agents of university sports bodies from throughout Africa.

The conference includes 130 research study documents on the future of university sport, covering the healthy school, governance, special needs, anti-doping, sports marketing, expert system and e-sports, skill recognition, and sport for peace and sustainable advancement.

Teacher Loutfi stated that hosting the conference shows The British University in Egypt’s view that a university’s function extends beyond its school, which sport and clinical research study can integrate to construct more powerful organizations that serve their neighborhoods.
