Set the tone together
Clubs, fan groups and venue staff should be clear that discrimination, harassment and threats are not part of support. A code of conduct matters most when it is reinforced consistently by the people others look to.
Support creatively, not destructively
Chants, banners, artwork and community projects can create a memorable atmosphere. Keep them respectful, follow venue rules and avoid content that targets an individual’s identity, appearance or private life.
Look after each other
Help newcomers find their way, check in when someone is distressed and report serious concerns through the right channels. Do not feel obliged to confront dangerous behaviour alone; staff and stewards have a role in keeping the space safe.
Keep rivalry in proportion
Rivalry can be fun, but it should end when the match ends. Avoid hostile online campaigns, intimidation and carrying arguments into local communities. Respectful competition makes the sporting moment more enjoyable for everyone.
