Dolly Parton’s beloved nephew reportedly fired as head of security

Dolly Parton’s nephew Bryan Seaver has reportedly been fired as head of security for his late aunt’s properties.

According to TMZ, Seaver, who announced Parton’s death in August, has been given a letter informing him that he and his security companies have been “dismissed from every Dolly property.”

The outlet reported that a new security team is already in place at Parton’s main residence in Nashville, as well as her museum, downtown residence and warehouse.

Seaver told TMZ that he and his team were “dismayed by the unexpected and, so far, unexplained actions” taken by Parton’s longtime manager Danny Nozell and Pinnacle Bank.

“We remain unshakably resolved to fulfill [Parton’s] final directive to protect her family, and we refuse to be intimidated by those whose actions we believe are being taken in bad faith and with the intent to profit from the life of someone who willingly gave so much,” they added.

While Seaver has been stripped of his security duties, his personal interest in Parton’s trust, which covers her business interests and properties, remains intact.

‘Dolly opened doors not just for me but for her entire family’

Seaver, the son of Parton’s sister Cassie, shocked the entertainment world when he announced the legendary singer’s death last month on social media.

“My name is Bryan Seaver, son of Cassie Parton, and I’m representing the Parton and Owens family today announcing the passing of my aunt, Dolly Rebecca Parton Dean, Sister, Sis and Granny to one generation and Gigi to the next,” he said in the video. “This video announcement is something Dolly asked of me years ago, before I fully absorbed it as a future reality. As her head of security for more than two decades, a role my father Larry held before me, I have imagined the heaviness of this moment but haven’t truly felt it until now.”

Seaver added: “It is an honour, an honour that is mixed with absolute pride and great sadness. But sadness lies with us, not with Dolly. Dolly has lived in the light and is in the arms of Jesus, surely met by (her husband) Carl, her parents and countless others who have watched her and longed to meet her in the heavens.”

Parton’s nephew said he first went on the road with the singer as a kid in the early 1980s.

“Dolly opened doors not just for me but for her entire family to reach the potential we didn’t even know was possible. Dolly also opened doors for generations of singers, songwriters, musicians and dreamers from every walk of life and across every continent,” Seaver continued in the video message. “By her example, we believed that anything is possible. She never saw a door she couldn’t open, and the doors she opened made and changed history.”

Seaver went on to pledge that he and members of Parton’s family would “work diligently to ensure her spirit will live with us forever.”

Parton died on Aug. 25 at the age of 80 following a “brief battle with cancer.”

“After bravely facing a brief battle with cancer, Dolly departed her Earthly life today at the Vanderbilt-Ingram Cancer Center surrounded by loved ones,” a statement from her family read.

In one of Parton’s final public appearances, the 9 to 5 actress showed up for a ribbon-cutting ceremony at her recently opened Tennessee truck stop.

“I could not be prouder,” Parton said. “I’ve spent my whole life travelling down the road.”
